You can't prepare. No one can prepare you for it, not really. You'll think you are, but then it will catch you off guard and send shivers down your spine. The suspense builds and builds and builds until the final reel when all hell breaks loose. And in that moment, in that perfect moment where everything comes together in a beautiful symphony of horror film genius, you'll know that Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead made it just right — at least according to this critic's opinion. The latest addition to the horror genre is hitting theaters today! Make sure to get out there before 'it' catches up with us all. Plot: A couple (Aaron and Justin) make their way to the remote house of two young girls (Karen and Cassie) travelling with their father. The time is 1983 and Karen and Cassie have seen the man who murdered their mother, Peter, at least once before; she will play a small part in his upcoming murder as well. Before the three can settle in for an overnight stay, a storm rolls in and forces them to seek shelter for the night. From there on out, things become frantic as ghostly apparitions begin to show up to wreak havoc upon those that dwell within. Why It's Great:Why It's Not Great:Justin: "It's not perfect... we spent a long time on this, and we were really gunning for the version of the movie that's on the poster. But VOD is not done yet, so I think there's some growing pains to be had. We've only seen about 60% of it, so it's way too early to say what might happen or what doesn't." Aaron: "I'm hoping that people are more forgiving when they see the movie on VOD, but I also feel like some may have already made up their mind whether it was good or bad. So no matter if that changes after people see it in theaters on January 27th. We're just hoping fans of our work will give it a chance." Justin: "When we originally got the job I got excited. So excited, in fact, that we originally thought we were going to be shooting for six months and doing a feature film. But as things turned out and as we started to start to shoot and realize what we were getting ourselves into, it became very clear that this was going to take longer than expected. So I think it's been about two years from our first meeting talking about doing this film until now." Aaron: "I'm incredibly grateful as well as humbled by how much support that Justin and I have gotten from all of you guys. We really feel like, with this one, everything has come together with the cast and crew. It's been an amazing experience for us." Justin: "And I think people are really excited to see the movie. I'm so excited to be able to show you guys what we've been working on for the last two years. We're almost there, but there's still some work to be done." Aaron: "So hopefully that isn't a problem that comes up too much. And then after that, I think it will be up on iTunes or Amazon or wherever you can go catch it sometime in February. cfa1e77820
